Stroke has another term called cerebrovascular accident which is known to be defined as the necrosis or death of brain cells due to the lack of oxygen through the blood supply to the brain. It can happen in two ways:

  • Smoking
  • Excessive alcohol intake 
  • Previous heart diseases

TRANSIENT ISCHAEMIC ATTACK (TIA) / MINI STROKE 

It’s another variant of stroke. Its duration is for a shorter period and it can resolve within 24 hours. A mini-stroke is considered to be a prior short episode of stroke.

In mini-stroke, the signs and symptoms happen to disappear within minutes or an hour. 

However one should always seek medical attention after the episode of TIA to prevent the further onset of stroke.
